TRUTH
by Dawn Bartley
Brian May has taught me so much through his music. With his art of
guitar, I have learned to appreciate what good music really is. Through
his lyrics as well he has taught me to think about many new and
interesting things. This poem is a tribute to his art:
TRUTH
If music were human,
I would shake her hand;
Follow her forever
Till the last drop of sand.
If music were an animal,
I would make her my own
What better than this, to say
Music dwells in my home.
If music were a tree,
I would sit by her roots;
Basking in the shade
And awaiting her fruits.
If music were the sea,
I would choose to drown
The music grows sweeter
As you sink further down.
If music were a painting
I would memorize her lines;
Gazing into the depths
For new artful finds.
But music deceives;
She takes the simplest of forms.
She thrives in the soul,
In the inward raging of storms.
Seek no further
To make music your bride
You are already One;
Take a look inside.
Never have I known a musician to be so in touch with the music of his
soul as Brian; he makes music come alive for me. Not only does he
inspire me musically, but he makes me want to develop my character as
well. I would wear your Brian May t-shirt with as much pride as I have
in playing his amazing music!
