NAME: Steve Cunningham
LOCATION: Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan, USA
SCHOOL/JOB: Student, sound engineer
INTERESTS: playing guitar & piano, movies, listening to music
WHAT WAS THE FIRST QUEEN ALBUM YOU BOUGHT? "Greatest Hits," hey you gotta
start somewhere
HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN A FAN OF QUEEN/BRIAN MAY? About 8 years
FAV. QUEEN ALBUM/S: Live at Wembley '86, Queen II, A Night At The Opera
FAV. BRIAN MAY ALBUM/S: Live At Brixton Academy
FAV. QUEEN/BRIAN MAY SONG/S: "Love Of My Life" acoustic version,
Business, Spread Your Wings, Tie Your Mother Down, FBI
FAV. QUEEN/BRIAN MAY VIDEO/S: "BoRap," cause it's about the only one we
ever see in the US. The entire Wembley '86 video kicks ass (i'm kind of
obsessed with the place), and the Tribute concert video is probably my
favorite video of anyone, anywhere, anytime.
FAV. QUEEN/BRIAN MAY LYRIC/QUOTE: "It's time to get down, get down, get
down make love." :-)
QUEEN/BRIAN MAY CONCERTS ATTENDED: NONE!!! Dammit...i love everything about
being 18 except for the fact that I was 3 the last time Queen played in
Detroit and 11 the last time Brian toured the US. :-(
WHEN YOU THINK OF BRIAN WHAT'S THE FIRST WORD THAT COMES TO MIND? the red guitar
IF YOU COULD MEET BRIAN WHAT WOULD BE THE FIRST THING YOU WOULD SAY TO HIM? Him?: So, um, do you wanna jam?
IF YOU COULD HAVE BRIAN OVER FOR ONE DAY WHAT WOULD YOU DO FOR THAT DAY? Play guitar with him and his band for as long as humanly possible,
and when he does solos, play all the guitar harmonies along with him...that
would be such an amazing feeling. And playing with his band would be amazing
as well, Eric Singer is one of my favorite drummers. If you liked him on the
"Another World" tour check out Kiss' "Carnival Of Souls" or "Revenge," as his
drumming rocks on those albums also.
WHAT SONG WOULD YOU MOST LIKE TO SEE BRIAN COVER? All The Young Dudes
WHO WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE BRIAN COLLABORATE WITH IN THE FUTURE? Besides Roger and John, Def Leppard, definately. Whenever I listen
to a Lep album the songs and vocals are definately reminicent of late 70's
Queen. Love it...
WHAT IS YOUR MUSICAL TALENT? guitar & piano, and singing sometimes, and
some mediocre songwriting, but hopefully it's improving
YOUR WEBSITE: http://members.aol.com/WalrusOct9/index.html (should be up by
the end of March)
WHAT OTHER MUSIC DO YOU REALLY LIKE? Dream Theater, the Beatles, Oasis,
Stones, The Verve, Kula Shaker, Rush, Billy Joel, U2, the Black Crowes, Yes...
MAILING LISTS YOU ARE ON: Whatever, the Oasis discussion list, a Billy Joel
list, and The Verve Information network
MESSAGE FOR THE FANS: "You all have really good taste :-)...and
musicians, keep the spirit of Queen alive in the music you create now. Queen
can never be duplicated, but their influence can be carried over into new
music for years to come."
MESSAGE TO BRIAN: " Brian, if you ever read this, there are fans in the
states who would do anything to see you perform live. Your music, especially
the two solo albums, has inspired me to create music for the last 8 years,
and will continue to do so for the rest of my life. I was just discovering
Queen right after Freddie died, so i'm too young to remember it, but i know
that the music of Queen, Freddie, and Cozy will live forever..."
